Does my best guy friend like me?

My best guy friend and I live in different states but he texts me EVERY DAY, often up to 100 times back and forth in one day. We have been intimate and he has come to visit me several times but we remain "friends". We talk about everything under the sun and he has told me many times that I will be a great mother and has even said that he thought we might end up together. There have been a few boyfriends over the almost 3 years since I moved away and he has been supportive, positive and unbiased toward them so it makes me think he may not be that interested? Yet he still texts me every day, even if I do not respond sometimes. He has literally text me 99% of the 3 years we haven't lived in the same state and usually always sends me a "good morning" and "sweet dreams" text daily. He is handsome, very smart, driven and successful and has girls lined around the block to date him so he is definitely not desperate. I'd like opinions of as to what you think he is thinking. Thanks!
